Or, in the words of their designer, Toyota, wearable personal mobility vehicles.
Still in the concept stage, this new range of personal transports consists of the i-Swing, the i-Unit and the i-Foot.
The i-Swing is a vehicle that can run either in a two wheel or a three wheel mode, and has display panels that can be customised to give the vehicle a look to match the driver's choice. You can see a video of it here.
The i-Unit, its shape symbolising a leaf, is a four wheel vehicle that can be driven in a low speed upright position or a high speed low position. In the upright position the driver is almost standing up and can move among other people. An interactive demo of the car is available on the Toyota site.
The i-foot is a two legged walking vehicle that can navigate staircases, and looks straight out of a Star Wars movie. The video is here.
The future of mobility or hyped up gizmos ? Only time can tell.
